Homebrew Suppliers
What Is Homebrew?
Homebrew refers to estradiol injectable solutions made by community members (not pharmaceutical companies). These are typically:
- Estradiol esters (EV, EEn, EC) dissolved in carrier oil (MCT, grapeseed, sesame, etc.)
- Vial concentrations ranging from 10–50 mg/mL
- Sold through community channels (Reddit, Discord, Telegram)
Why People Use Homebrew
| Reason | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Cost | Homebrew is significantly cheaper than pharmaceutical injectables |
| Access | Injectable estradiol is hard to get a prescription for in many countries |
| Custom concentrations | Can get higher concentrations (40 mg/mL) that reduce injection volume |
| Ester options | EEn and EC are easier to source via homebrew than pharma |
How to Evaluate a Homebrew Supplier
| Factor | What to Look For |
|---|---|
| Community reputation | Long-standing positive reviews on Reddit/Telegram |
| Sterile practices | Labelled with batch number, ingredients, concentration, date |
| Transparency | Willing to share brewing process and sources of raw materials |
| Testing | Some suppliers send samples for third-party HPLC testing |
| Packaging | Sealed vials, sterile crimp caps, proper labelling |
Risks of Homebrew
| Risk | Mitigation |
|---|---|
| Contamination (bacteria, endotoxins) | Choose suppliers with sterile protocols; inspect vials before use |
| Inaccurate concentration | Compare your blood test results to expected levels |
| Allergic reaction (to carrier oil) | Know what oil is used (MCT, grapeseed, sesame, etc.) |
| No USP/PhEur standard | Homebrew is not pharmaceutical grade |
| Scams (never ships, incorrect product) | Use trusted, community-verified suppliers |
Sterile Technique When Using Homebrew
Homebrew injectables require stricter safety precautions than pharmaceutical products because they are not manufactured in regulated clean-room conditions.
Before You Inject: 0.22 μm Syringe Filtration (Required)
This step is mandatory for all homebrew injectables
Always filter homebrew injectable solutions through a 0.22 μm sterile syringe filter before injection. This is the single most important additional safety step for homebrew users.
A 0.22 μm membrane filter (also written as 0.2 μm) removes bacteria, fungal spores, and particles from the solution before it enters your body. Skipping this step significantly increases the risk of local infection (abscess, cellulitis) and systemic infection (sepsis).
What to buy: Sterile, single-use syringe filters, 0.22 μm pore size, PES (polyethersulfone) or PVDF membrane. Available from Amazon, eBay, lab supply retailers. Buy packs of individually wrapped sterile units. Do NOT reuse filters.
How to use:
- Draw your dose with an 18–20G drawing needle.
- Remove the drawing needle.
- Attach the syringe filter to the tip of the syringe.
- Slowly push the plunger through the filter — collect in a new sterile syringe or attach your injection needle directly to the filter output port.
- Detach the filter and attach your injection needle.
- Proceed with injection as normal.
Important: If the oil is very viscous and hard to push through, warm the vial first. Use a fresh filter if you feel significant resistance mid-push (the filter may have loaded with particulates).
Additional Homebrew Precautions
- Always wipe the vial septum with 70% isopropyl alcohol before drawing. Allow it to dry (10 seconds).
- Use a new needle and syringe for every injection.
- Do not share vials with others — this introduces contamination risk.
- Inspect the vial each time: discard if you see cloudiness, floating particles, colour change, or broken seal.
- Store at room temperature (15–25°C), away from direct light.
- Follow the brewer's stated shelf life (typically 1–2 years sealed; 28 days after first puncture is the pharmaceutical standard).
